Rob Liefeld was born in the United States on October 3, 1967. He is the second child of the Baptist minister and part-time secretary. Rob is not the only child, but he has a sister with whom he grew up in Anaheim in California. As a young man, Liefeld had a great interest in and love for the art of comics. Also, he had the habit of tracing the artworks from the very popular comics of that period. In order to improve his skills, Rob attended several courses of art.
At the comic book fair at Disneyland Hotel, Liefeld had the opportunity to meet some of the greatest names in the world of comic books such as Mike Zeck, Jim Shooter, John Romita Jr, George Pérez, Marv Wolfman or Bob Layton. As he said, George Pérez had the greatest influence on him. As for his love life, Liefeld is in a happy marriage with Joy Creel, a member of the “Creel Triplets”.
His career lasts for more than 25 years and began when he was still a student. He was then engaged by big Marvel and DC comics.
